Job summary

The Michaels Companies Inc. in New Britain, CT, is seeking a Sales Manager to lead a high-performing selling culture across the store, guiding front-end and service operations to ensure customer-focused execution and alignment with brand standards.

You will coach teams, manage MOD coverage, optimize POS and Self-Checkout experiences, drive omni-channel service, and collaborate on programs like Loyalty Rewards, BOPIS, and in-store events to boost sales and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 3+ years retail leadership experience.
• Ability to coach selling behaviors and customer service standards.
• Experience with front-end and service operations.
• Ability to lead during nights, weekends and early mornings.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage adherence to SOPs and Company programs to ensure compliance with laws and requirements.
• Ensure execution of Company policies and standards, holding team accountable for store conditions and results.
• Model and coach customer experience and selling behaviors to drive conversion and customer satisfaction.
• Provide Manager-on-Duty (MOD) coverage, maintaining floor leadership and operational continuity.
• Oversee POS and Self-Checkout systems, supporting smooth transactions and customer support.
• Oversee in-store programs and events (Balloons, Birthday parties).
• Promote Loyalty Rewards enrollment to drive retention and repeat visits.
• Drive sales and omni-channel service, including BOPIS and Same Day Delivery.
• Train, coach, and develop team members across departments.
• Support Asset Protection practices to reduce shrink.
