Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina, Inc. seeks a dedicated individual to support a high-volume retail store in Piedmont, SC. You will assist the store manager, learn all store functions, and step in as acting manager during absences after training.

The role focuses on supervising associates and clients, operating the cash register, handling deposits, and maintaining inventories. You will help with merchandising and promotions while ensuring policy compliance.

Responsibilities

To assist the store managers in the development and operations of the assigned store to maximize retail market share and donations in compliance with the annual operating budget.
To work under the supervision of the Retail Store Manager to learn all functions of operating a retail store.
After thirty day training period, to relieve the manager on holidays, sick leave, etc., and act as manager in the manager’s absence.
To supervise associates and clients in the day-to-day operations of a retail variety store in the manager’s absence.
To accurately operate the cash register, validate payment methods, balance and count-down cash drawers.
To maintain monthly inventories, make daily bank deposits, weekly schedules, reconcile daily sales receipts, and prepare daily reports accurately and timely.
To maintain merchandising displays and coordinate sales promotion activities.
To process, stock, merchandise, colorize, size, tag, barcode, and date merchandise.
To perform housekeeping and janitorial duties as scheduled.
To attend training and managers meetings; ensure compliance with Goodwill policies.
To assist at other locations as needed and work with the store team to maximize growth of the location.
