Job summary

Goodwill Southern New England in New Britain, CT is seeking a Retail Store Shift Supervisor to assist the Store Manager in all operations of the Goodwill Retail Store or Outlet. The role includes customer service, donor assistance, inventory processing, and cash handling, with weekend and evening hours typical to retail.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus a minimum of one year related experience and/or training.
• Must have attained 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers and donors in a timely and courteous manner, ensuring excellent customer service.
• Maximize used goods processing through the proper application of Goodwill techniques, including sorting, preparing and pricing items for sale.
• Meet or exceed production goals on a consistent basis.
• Ensure that the store and surrounding premises are kept neat, clean and orderly and free of safety hazards and that health, safety and emergency procedures are understood and followed by employees.
• Report unsafe conditions to supervisor and assist with unloading trucks as required.
• Assist Store Manager in training new employees and maintaining production areas for ease of operations.
• Close out daily cash, verify amounts, and deposit nightly as required.
• Run store operations in the Store Manager’s absence, including opening/closing, directing staff, and ensuring policy adherence.
• Maintain store records and report any fraud suspicions to supervisor.
• Perform bank transactions and have access to transportation for bank trips.
