Job summary

Goodwill Southern New England is seeking a Retail Operations Assistant to support the Store Manager in daily store functions and customer service. The role emphasizes efficient goods handling, accurate cash handling, and maintaining a safe, welcoming shopping environment.

Typical duties include assisting customers, processing donations, pricing items, training new staff, and ensuring health and safety standards. Weekend and evening availability is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year related experience and/or training.
• Must be 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers and donors in a timely and courteous manner to ensure excellent service.
• Maximize used goods processing through sorting, preparing and pricing items for sale; meet production goals.
• Keep store and surroundings clean, safe and orderly; report unsafe conditions.
• Help unload truck and sort/grading newly arrived goods.
• Assist Store Manager in training new employees and maintaining store records.
• Close out register, balance cash, and make nightly deposits as required.
