Job summary

Goodwill Industries Southern New England Inc. is seeking a Retail Store Shift Supervisor to support Store Manager with daily operations, customer service, and staff supervision in a busy retail environment.

The role emphasizes maintaining a neat, safe store, handling cash accurately, training new staff, and meeting production goals. Weekend/evening hours are typical; formal education requires a HS diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus a minimum of one year related experience and/or training.
• Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions and communicate with customers.
• Ability to perform basic math and handle cash accurately.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers and donors in a timely and courteous manner.
• Maximize processing of used goods through sorting, preparing and pricing items.
• Maintain clean, safe store environment and report safety issues to supervisor.
• Help unload trucks and sort newly arrived goods.
• Assist Store Manager in training new employees and maintaining records.
• Close out daily register, ensure accuracy, and deposit daily receipts as required.
• Operate store in the absence of Store Manager, directing staff and ensuring policy adherence.
