Job summary

Michaels Stores is seeking a Sales Manager in Wilmington, NC to lead a high-performing selling culture across the store, driving strong sales and an engaging customer experience. You will oversee front-end operations, implement SOPs, coach teams, and ensure adherence to brand standards and safety protocols.

You will champion customer-focused selling behaviors, manage day-to-day store execution, and support services such as BOPIS, Same Day Delivery, and loyalty programs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years retail leadership experience.
• Ability to lead front-end operations and customer experience.
• Strong coaching to drive sales KPIs and service standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in leading SOPs and Company programs for compliance.
• Ensure policy execution, store conditions, and results.
• Model and coach Customer Experience and ART of Selling behaviors to drive conversion.
• Provide Manager-on-Duty coverage and maintain operational continuity.
• Oversee POS and Self-Checkout accuracy and customer support.
• Oversee events like Balloons, birthday parties, and in-store programs.
• Promote and enroll customers in Loyalty Rewards Program for retention.
• Drive sales and omni-channel service like BOPIS and Same Day Delivery.
• Train and develop team members through onboarding and ongoing skill-building.
• Support Asset Protection to reduce shrink and ensure safety.
