Job summary

Michaels in Danbury, CT is seeking a Sales Manager to lead a high-performing selling culture across the store, driving strong sales results and a engaging customer experience.

The Sales Manager will oversee front-end and service operations, ensure SOP compliance, and coach the team to deliver best-in-class Customer Experience and ART of Selling behaviors. This role requires leadership, weekend/evening availability, and focus on omni-channel service excellence.

Qualifications

• 3+ years retail leadership experience.
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks.
• Willing to work nights, weekends and early mornings.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage adherence to SOPs and Company programs to ensure compliance with laws and requirements.
• Model Customer Experience and ART of Selling behaviors to drive conversion and customer satisfaction.
• Provide Manager-on-Duty coverage, maintaining floor leadership and service standards.
• Oversee POS and Self-Checkout operations and omni-channel services (BOPIS, Same Day Delivery).
• Drive initiatives in the Knit & Sew Shop and in-store programs like balloons and loyalty enrollment.
• Train, coach, and develop team members through onboarding and ongoing skill-building.
• Support Asset Protection practices to reduce shrink and ensure safe operations.
