Job summary

Michaels is hiring a Sales Manager for the Palm Desert, CA store. The role leads a high-performing team, drives sales, and delivers an engaging customer experience while upholding brand standards and SOPs.

You will coach staff, manage front-end operations, and support omni-channel services like BOPIS and Same Day Delivery. The position requires leadership in a fast-paced retail environment with night, weekend, and early-morning hours.

Qualifications

• 3+ years retail leadership experience.
• Ability to manage front-end and service operations.
• Experience with BOPIS, Same Day Delivery and in-store events.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in leading SOPs and company programs.
• Ensure compliance with policies and store standards.
• Model customer experience and selling behaviors to drive conversion.
• Provide Manager-on-Duty coverage and floor leadership.
• Ensure accurate use of POS and Self-Checkout systems.
• Oversee in-store programs such as Balloons, Knit & Sew Shop, and Custom Framing (where applicable).
• Train and develop team members through onboarding and ongoing coaching.
• Support asset protection and shrink reduction initiatives.
