Job summary

Micro Center is seeking self-motivated Retail Computer Technicians to join our team in New York. Starting at $16.50/hour with incentives to increase hourly rates up to $19.50-35/hr, depending on productivity and performance.

Responsibilities include in-person consultations, troubleshooting, recommending service solutions, and assembling custom computers. Shifts may include mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; 1 year related computer service repair or technical customer service preferred.
• CompTIA A+ or Apple ACMT/ACiT certifications; Apple certs highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person consultations and troubleshooting at the service counter.
• Recommend service solutions including data backups, anti-virus, extended warranties, and subscriptions.
• Identify, diagnose, and document hardware/software issues on desktops, laptops, mobiles, TVs, and monitors.
• Assemble custom computers with the BYO sales team.
• Maintain certifications and stay updated on products and tech.
• Handle cash till, customer transactions, and keep area and inventory organized.
• Provide timely information to customers via face-to-face, phone, text, and email.
