Job summary

The Home Depot is offering an Operations Assistant Store Manager in Training (OASM-IT) program. This role provides hands-on experience across store operations, customer service, inventory, and profitability, with mentorship and leadership development.

Training duration is up to 6 weeks, preparing you to oversee key departments and drive sales growth in a dynamic retail environment. OASMs in Training will work closely with the Store Manager and ASMs to learn to develop and implement strategies

Qualifications

• Must be eighteen years of age or older.
• Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
• Education: high school diploma or GED; bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a structured training program covering all aspects of retail store management, including operations, customer service, sales and profitability, and policies.
• Supervise customer experience and engage associates to meet store goals.
• Plan merchandise placement, signing and maintain stock integrity through inventory management.
• Perform opening/closing MOD and other store-wide responsibilities while enforcing SOPs and safety compliance.
• Learn to manage safety, hazmat procedures, and shrink prevention.
