Job summary

The Home Depot in the United States is seeking an Operations Assistant Store Manager in Training (OASM-IT) to gain hands-on experience in store operations, customer service, and profitability during a formal training program.

During the up-to-6-week training, you will work with the Store Manager and ASMs to learn to oversee areas such as Customer Service Desk, Receiving, Tool Rental, and Inventory, while developing leadership and problem-solving skills for departmental success.

Qualifications

• Must be eighteen years of age or older.
• Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
• The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.
• Minimum 3 years of work experience.
• Minimum 2 years of leadership experience.
• Preferred 3+ years of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a structured training program covering store operations, customer service, sales and profitability, and company policies.
• Supervise customer service and sales efforts to model GET culture and drive associate engagement.
• Plan merchandise placement, signing and support stock integrity through inventory management.
• Perform opening/closing MOD and adhere to store SOPs, safety compliance, and loss prevention practices.
• Follow safety and hazmat procedures at all times.
