Job summary

Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia is seeking a store supervisor to help run a location, donation site and in-store production facility when the manager is away. The role directs associates, maintains customer service standards, and ensures safe, clean, and organized operations.

Strong communication, leadership and problem-solving skills are essential to meet store goals. Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED, and while a year of leadership experience is preferred,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred; will consider a combination of education and work experience.
• 1 Year experience in a leadership role preferred.
• No professional certifications are required for this position.
• The associate is not required to drive as part of their job duties.
• The associate in this position will be required to successfully pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Run store operations in the absence of the store and assistant manager; includes front end and production areas.
• Monitor associates progress relative to goals, including production and Round Up; execute MATRIX daily.
• Participate in production to meet store goals as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and visual merchandise standards; model customer service.
• Promote Goodwill’s standards of exceptional customer service internally and externally.
• Assist the store management team with onboarding, monthly meetings, check-ins and appraisals.
• Solicit feedback from customers and associates; act on it.
• Use management reports to measure activity and identify trends.
• Submit closing reports, accident reports, risk training reports, and Kronos documentation on time in ROM/RAM absence.
• Communicate with supervisor and management about store operations and personnel issues.
• Look for opportunities to improve efficiencies, processes, and people development; act on it.
• Fully participate in meetings and learning opportunities.
