Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Lead Sales Associate to maintain a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. You will help customers locate merchandise, operate the cash register, stock displays, and ensure planograms are followed.

You may lead in the absence of the Store Manager, support daily store operations, and contribute to profitability and safety. A high school diploma and supervisory experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandise presentation guides.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations and operate the cash register.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposits.
• Ability to drive own vehicle to bank for deposits.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total purchases, collect payment, bag merchandise.
• Stock merchandise, restock and rotate on shelves; build displays.
• Clean the store; take out trash; mop floors; clean restrooms and stockroom.
• Assist in implementation and maintenance of planograms.
• Open and close the store under Store Manager direction.
• Perform duties of Store Manager or Assistant Manager in their absence.
