Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a part-time Retail Sales Lead (25 hours weekly) to support the Gilroy ARC team. You will work with the Store Manager on daily operations, POS handling, inventory and donations, and staff scheduling while delivering exceptional customer and donor service.

This role emphasizes safety, accountability, and community relations, with opportunities for growth within a mission-driven nonprofit.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED required.
• Minimum of one year retail experience; supervisory experience preferred.
• Must pass background check (criminal history and sex offender registry).
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, staff, customers and donors.

Responsibilities

• Partners with Store Manager in daily store operations including POS, inventory, and donations.
• Assumes day-to-day operations in absence of Store/Assistant Manager; discuss concerns with District Sales Manager.
• Monitors KPIs to drive store sales and profitability against budget and goals.
• Schedules staff to ensure proper coverage; conducts team meetings and coaching.
• Ensures high levels of customer and donor satisfaction and maintains community relations.
• Supports Back Room Processing to meet daily processing goals.
• Oversees security of store currency, inventory, and property; ensures safety compliance.
