Job summary

Rural King seeks a Department Lead to drive efficient store operations in our Ohio retail environment. You will manage scanning outs, inventory, price changes, and planograms while ensuring department cleanliness and high standards.

The role requires strong communication, adaptability, and a customer-first approach. You will train across departments, handle front-end support, and contribute to a safe, engaging shopping experience for our rural communities.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of retail experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate active listening and clear responses.
• Adaptability to changing priorities and needs.
• Flexible mindset to navigate ambiguity and uncertainty.
• Strong problem-solving and timely decision-making.
• Remain composed under pressure with attention to detail.
• Ability to use computer systems and software to assist customers or manage tasks.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Flexible hours including 40-hour weeks, varied shifts, nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Oversee scanning outs, inventory management, recovery, price changes and planogram sets.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels via cycle counts and replenishment.
• Ensure department cleanliness and appealing displays per merchandising guidelines.
• Coordinate price changes with relevant teams and update labels/signage.
• Manage playbook features and planogram implementations to maximize sales.
• Provide friendly, proactive customer service and assist with inquiries.
• Support front-end operations including transactions and loadouts.
• Operate retail equipment and use handheld devices as needed.
• Participate in cross-training for flexibility across departments.
• Engage in training programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
