Job summary

Johnson Service Group is seeking an experienced Retail Customer Service Representative for a contract role in Centreville, AL. The position handles cashier responsibilities, billing inquiries, service applications, payment arrangements, and promotes products and services.

The candidate should have strong communication, a positive attitude, and initiative, with availability Monday–Friday, 8:00–5:00. In-office contact and inquiries may be required.

Qualifications

• Willing to promote products and services to customers.

Responsibilities

• Greeting customers in the local office or over the phone/online.
• Process payments and balance cash funds, post payments, and manage daily cash drawer.
• Assist customers with service issues: connect/disconnect, deposits, lighting requests, outages, rate selection.
• Respond to billing or collection inquiries and set up payment arrangements.
• Promote and sell company products and services (Budget billing, EFT, paperless billing, transfers).
• Assist with program requests (bill extender, summary billing, SSI, alerts).
• Educate customers to avoid/address future service or payment issues.
• Understand meter reading and billing cycles.
• Assist with merchandise sales and represent the company positively.

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a nationally recognized professional staffing and recruiting firm that is currently looking for an experienced Retail Customer Service Representative to fill a contract position in Centreville, AL. The work schedule is 8:00 - 5:00, Monday - Friday.

Job Summary

This position will act as the initial contact with the customer, whether in the local business office or through telephone or online inquiries. The successful candidate must be able?to handle cashier responsibilities, bill inquiries, applications for service, non-pay reconnects, payment arrangements, billing adjustments, and promote products and services. The successful candidate should be knowledgeable of collection procedures. They must have the ability to engage with the public in a tactful and courteous manner. Applicant should be customer service oriented and must have a positive attitude, good communication skills, and possess strong initiative.

Job Responsibilities

• Receiving and greeting customers in the local office and/or over the phone or online
• Processing payments and balancing cash funds: Posting payments in CSS, processing Item 14 payments, daily balancing cash drawer and kiosk
• Assisting customers with electrical service issues: Connect/disconnect service, assessing deposits, outdoor lighting request, outage reporting, rate selection
• Responding to customers with billing or collection inquiries: Final bill collections, high bill explanations, payment arrangements, special agreements set ups, transfer payments, issuing various meter investigation orders
• Promoting and selling Company products and services: Budget billing, flat bill, EFT, paperless billing, All Connect transfers, Agency Assistance portal, landlord portal, OCC
• Assisting customers with program requests: Bill extender, summary billing, SSI, text messaging enrollments (billing and outage alerts)
• Educating customers on ways to avoid/address service or payment issues in the future
• Understands the meter reading process and billing cycle
• Assisting with merchandise sales
• Representing the Company to customers in a positive manner
• This position may require some bending, lifting, climbing, prolonged sitting, prolonged walking, walking on gravel or crawling when necessary.
