Job summary

Micro Center in Phoenix, AZ is seeking motivated Retail Computer Technicians. Base pay starts at $15.15/hour with incentives to raise hourly earnings up to $35/hour based on productivity.

Work mainly at the service counter splitting time with the shop, diagnosing devices and guiding customers through repair options. You'll perform consultations, troubleshoot a range of computers and electronics, assemble custom PCs, document issues, and communicate progress to customers.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with 1 year related computer service repair or tech customer service experience preferred.
• CompTIA A+ certification or Apple ACMT/ACiT certifications, or the ability to be certified within 90 days of hire.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to multi-task.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for prolonged periods.
• Shifts include mornings, nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person consultations and troubleshooting to customers at the service counter on computers and related products.
• Recommend service solutions including data backups, antivirus, warranties, and subscriptions.
• Identify and document hardware or software problems on desktops, laptops, mobiles, TVs and monitors.
• Assemble custom computers for the BYO sales team.
• Utilize manuals and vendor certifications while keeping up to date on products and technologies.
• Maintain a cash till, handle transactions, and keep the work area clean with accurate inventory tracking.
• Provide timely information to customers about their service events via face-to-face, phone, text, and email.
