Job summary

Micro Center in Santa Clara is seeking Retail Computer Technicians with a passion for computers and strong customer service. You will split time between the service counter and shop floor, diagnosing devices and guiding customers through repair options with potential uncapped commissions.

The role offers base pay of $19/hour with earning potential up to $35.50/hour plus commission, and requires flexible shifts including mornings, nights, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with one-year related computer service repair or technical customer service experience strongly preferred.
• CompTIA A+ certification or Apple ACMT and ACiT certifications, or the ability to be certified within 90 days of hire.
• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills with ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person consultations and troubleshooting at the service counter for computers and related products.
• Recommend service solutions including data backups, anti-virus, warranties, and subscriptions.
• Identify and document hardware or software issues on desktops, laptops, phones, TVs, and monitors.
• Assemble custom computers for BYO sales.
• Maintain certifications and stay updated on retail products and technologies.
• Handle cash till, customer transactions, and maintain a clean, organized department.
