Job summary

Rack Room Shoes is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in running day-to-day operations and ensuring policy compliance. The role involves leading staff, maintaining service standards, handling POS procedures, inventory control, and loss prevention while delivering a premier customer experience.

You will train and develop team members, supervise scheduling and payroll, and act as the store’s captain in the Store Manager’s absence to achieve sales and service goals.

Responsibilities

• Manage all POS transactions per policy; handle sales, discounts, loyalty, and opening/closing procedures.
• Inventory control including shipping/receiving, pricing changes, damages, and physical inventory.
• Merchandising and visual presentation to meet company standards; signage and floor upkeep.
• Schedule and payroll budgeting; manage time and attendance.
• Train and develop direct reports and enforce operational standards.
• Loss prevention and safeguarding company assets.
• Understand and manage day-to-day store operations.
