Job summary

Rack Room Shoes is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in daily operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. You will guide staff, train teams, and assume full responsibility in the Store Manager's absence while driving sales, service and operational excellence.

The role emphasizes leadership, customer experience, and adherence to store standards, with a focus on safety, merchandising, and efficient store performance.

Responsibilities

• Primary responsibility is the safety and welfare of employees and customers.
• Create, establish and maintain an excellent customer shopping experience and reinforce service standards.
• Handle POS transactions in accordance with policy for sales, discounts and refunds.
• Manage inventory control including shipping/receiving, price changes, markdowns and physical inventory.
• Oversee sales floor merchandising, housekeeping, promotions, signage and presentation.
• Monitor payroll, scheduling and time/attendance within policy.
• Train and develop direct reports per company procedures.
• Lead loss prevention by protecting assets and adhering to policies.
• Build understanding of day-to-day operations.
