Job summary

Rack Room Shoes seeks an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in daily operations, drive sales, supervise staff, and ensure policy compliance while delivering an excellent customer experience across the store. You will train team members, handle opening/closing, manage inventory and POS procedures, and work to protect assets.

Strong communication, leadership, and merchandising skills are essential to succeed in this role.

Responsibilities

• Safety and welfare of employees and customers.
• Create and maintain an excellent customer shopping experience; reinforce service level standards; provide service training and leadership.
• Handle all POS terminal transactions in accordance with policy and procedure (Sales, Discounts and Refunds, Loyalty; Open/Closing procedures).
• Inventory control duties including shipping/receiving, price changes, markdowns, damaged merchandise, and physical inventory.
• Merchandising and visual presentation to company standards (placement, housekeeping, signage).
• Payroll control including scheduling, budget compliance, and time/attendance.
• Training and development of direct reports with policy adherence and standard reinforcement.
• Loss prevention to protect company assets.
• Develop understanding of managing day-to-day operations.
