Job summary

Rack Room Shoes is seeking an Assistant Manager to assist the Store Manager in daily store operations, while ensuring policy compliance and delivering strong leadership to staff. The role emphasizes creating an exceptional customer experience, staff development, and safeguarding assets.

In this position you will partner with Store Management and District Leaders to meet sales, service and operational objectives, including loss prevention and visual merchandising standards across the floor.

Responsibilities

• Safety and welfare of employees and customers.
• Create and maintain an excellent customer shopping experience.
• Maintain and reinforce current service level standards.
• Provide service training and leadership to staff.
• Manage customer issues with urgency to customer satisfaction.
• Process POS transactions per policy and procedure; manage sales, discounts and refunds; loyalty.
• Open/Closing procedures.
• Inventory control: shipping/receiving, price changes, markdowns, singles, damaged merchandise, physical inventory.
• Merchandising and visual presentation to company standards.
• Payroll control: scheduling, payroll budget compliance, time and attendance.
• Training and development of direct reports; reinforce operational standards.
• Loss prevention: protect and control company assets.
• Strive to understand day-to-day store operations.
