Job summary

Meijer Inc. in Michigan is seeking an Area Leader to drive team engagement, onboarding, training and coaching across the span of care. You will lead Leads and Team Leaders and be accountable for area operations and budget performance.

You’ll identify talent, support staffing, ensure safety and compliance, and foster Meijer’s inclusive culture while implementing process improvements to strengthen customer service and store performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• A passion to provide industry leading service.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with team members in a way that provides clear and precise direction.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions.
• Demonstrates proactive/creative thinking and applies it to the business.

Responsibilities

• Engages with team members in span of care to ensure onboarding, training and development, and coaching and feedback to be successful.
• Identifies talent and engages in career discussions to support staffing and leadership pipelines.
• Involvement in candid discussions with team members to ensure Meijer standards are upheld and growth opportunities are available.
• Accountability for area operations and financial results by overseeing execution of corporate plans to maximize sales and productivity.
• Drives safety and compliance throughout the store and ensures adherence to procedures.
• Ensures Leads and Team Leaders are guiding daily work and training needs.
