Job summary

Meijer Inc. in Michigan is seeking an Area Leader responsible for team engagement, coaching and performance management across the span of care.

You will lead Leads and Team Leaders, drive recognition and training, and own area operations and budgeting to maximize sales and productivity. You will develop talent, manage staffing pipelines, ensure safety and Meijer standards, and implement process improvements while upholding the company culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with team members with clear direction.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information.
• Commitment to safe work practices and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

• Engage with team members to ensure onboarding, training and coaching for success.
• Identify talent and support staffing and leadership development.
• Conduct candid discussions to uphold Meijer standards and growth opportunities.
• Oversee area operations and financial results, including budgeting and forecasting.
• Drive safety, compliance and store condition management.
• Guide Team Leaders and Leads in daily work assignments and training needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.
