Job summary

Meijer is seeking an Area Leader to drive engagement and performance across team members within the span of care. You will lead onboarding, coaching and development, and oversee staffing strategies to ensure strong customer service and store performance.

You will be accountable for area operations, financial outcomes, safety, and adherence to corporate plans. This role requires strong leadership, communication and a commitment to Meijer's culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• Strong ability to communicate clearly and provide direction.

Responsibilities

• Engage team members to ensure onboarding, training and development with coaching and feedback.
• Identify talent and support staffing and leadership pipeline strategy.
• Lead discussions to uphold Meijer standards and grow the organization.
• Oversee area operations and financial results, including budgeting, forecasting and productivity.
• Drive safety and compliance, and manage store conditions and procedures.
• Guide Team Leaders and Leads in assigning daily work and training needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
