Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking an Area Leader to drive engagement and development for the span of care. You will coach, recognize performance, manage talent, and oversee area operations and financial results including shrink, productivity, and scheduling.

You’ll pursue process improvements while upholding Meijer’s culture and standards. You will lead Leads and Team Leaders, ensuring onboarding, training, and development, while aligning with corporate plans to maximize sales and maintain a safe,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4+ years in retail/grocery or customer service.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• A passion to provide industry leading service.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with team members to give clear direction.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information to inform decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a safety-focused operation.
• Merchandising knowledge to meet customer/community needs and drive sales.
• Innovative mindset and inclusive leadership to elevate Meijer standards.

Responsibilities

• Engages with team members to ensure onboarding, training, and coaching for success.
• Identifies talent and supports staffing and leadership development.
• Leads candid discussions to uphold Meijer standards and growth opportunities.
• Oversees area operations and financial results to maximize sales and productivity.
• Drives safety, compliance, and store condition management.
• Ensures Leads assign daily work and training needs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
