Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking an Area Leader to drive engagement and performance across a span of care. You will supervise Leads and Team Leaders, manage operations and financial results, and implement process improvements while upholding Meijer’s culture.

You will mentor on onboarding, staffing, and development, analyze financial data to inform decisions, and ensure safety, scheduling, and customer service excellence across stores in Michigan and surrounding states.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with team members to provide clear and precise direction.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information to inform decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead an organization that practices working safely.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

• Engages with team members to ensure onboarding, training and coaching are effective.
• Identifies talent and engages in career discussions to support staffing and leadership pipelines.
• Conducts candid discussions to uphold Meijer standards and growth opportunities.
• Oversees area operations and financial results, supervising budget items in the P&L.
• Drives safety and compliance and manages store condition.
• Ensures Leads/Team Leaders provide guidance and address training needs.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
