Job summary

Meijer is seeking an Area Leader to drive engagement and development across team members within the span of care. You will guide Leads and Team Leaders, own area operations and financials, and implement process improvements while upholding Meijer’s culture.

You’ll lead onboarding, training, and career discussions, ensuring talent growth and alignment with corporate plans to maximize sales and productivity. A focus on safety and compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• A passion to provide industry leading service.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial information and make informed decisions.

Responsibilities

• Engages with team members to ensure onboarding, training and coaching are effective.
• Identifies talent and supports career discussions to build a diverse pipeline.
• Discusses performance and growth opportunities to align with Meijer standards.
• Oversees area operations and financial results, managing budget line items in the P&L.
• Drives safety, compliance and store condition management across the area.
• Directs Leads and Team Leaders and assigns daily work and training needs.
