Job summary

Meijer is seeking an Area Leader to drive engagement and performance across a span of care, directing Leads and Team Leaders while owning area operations and financial results. The role emphasizes coaching, development, and adherence to Meijer standards.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with 4+ years in retail or customer service, plus progressive leadership experience. A strong focus on safety, budgeting, and inclusive leadership is essential to succeed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly and provide direction to team.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information to inform decisions.

Responsibilities

• Engage team members to ensure effective onboarding, training and development.
• Identify talent and support staffing plans across the store.
• Lead candid discussions to uphold Meijer standards and growth opportunities.
• Oversee area operations and financial results, driving budget and P&L performance.
• Ensure safety and compliance, and manage store condition and processes.
• Guide Team Leaders and Leads in daily work and training needs.
• May perform additional duties as needed.
