Job summary

Meijer is seeking an Area Leader to lead engagement across a defined span of care, drive recognition, feedback and coaching, and manage performance through training and development. You will direct Leads and Team Leaders, while being accountable for area operations and financials, including shrink, productivity, safety, and scheduling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
• Progressive leadership experience is preferred.
• Strong communication skills with team members and across levels.
• Ability to analyze financial and performance data to drive decisions.
• Commitment to safety, inclusivity, and customer service excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and engage team members across the span of care to ensure onboarding, training, development, coaching and feedback.
• Identify talent and support staffing plans to build a diverse leadership pipeline.
• Maintain Meijer standards and enable growth within the organization through candid discussions.
• Oversee area operations and financial results, including budgeting, productivity, and inventory controls.
• Drive safety, compliance and line-item accountability in the store operations.
• Coach and assign daily work to Team Leaders and Leads, ensuring training needs are met.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.
