Job summary

Meijer is seeking an Area Leader in Michigan to drive team engagement and oversee area operations and financials. You will lead Leads and Team Leaders, coach staff, and ensure onboarding, development, and performance management across the span of care.

The role requires strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills to optimize staffing, safety, and store results while upholding Meijer culture and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• A passion to provide industry leading service.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with team members to provide clear direction.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead an organization that practices working safely at all times.
• An innovative attitude to help Meijer set the industry standard.

Responsibilities

• Engages with team members in span of care to ensure onboarding, training and development, and coaching and feedback to be successful.
• Identifies talent and engages in career discussions to support store staffing and leadership pipelines.
• Involvement in candid discussions with team members to uphold Meijer standards and growth opportunities.
• Accountability for area operations and financial results by overseeing execution of corporate plans to maximize sales and productivity.
• Drives safety and compliance store-wide and ensures adherence to procedures.
• Ensures Leads and Team Leaders provide guidance and assign daily work and training as needed.
