Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking an Area Leader to drive engagement and performance within a span of care. You will coach Leads and Team Leaders, manage budgetary responsibilities, and ensure adherence to company standards while championing a safe, inclusive culture across multiple stores.

You will identify talent, lead staffing discussions and participate in succession planning while guiding the team to achieve sales and productivity goals through effective coaching and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• Strong communication with team members to provide clear direction.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information to inform decisions.
• Demonstrated commitment to working safely and following procedures.

Responsibilities

• Oversee area operations and financial results, including budgeting and P&L ownership.
• Engage Leads and Team Leaders, provide coaching, feedback and development opportunities.
• Drive talent identification, succession planning and workforce staffing strategies.
• Ensure adherence to Meijer standards and foster an inclusive, high-performing culture.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, safety and customer service.
