Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking an Area Leader to drive engagement and performance across a span of care.

You will coach Leads and Team Leaders, manage onboarding, training, and development, and build a strong talent pipeline for both store staffing and leadership roles. You’ll oversee area operations and financial results, including budgeting, scheduling, safety, and compliance, while championing Meijer’s inclusive culture and continuous process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years in retail/grocery or customer service.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• Strong communication and decision-making skills.
• Ability to analyze financial data and use it to drive decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead onboarding, training and development, and coaching for team members.
• Identify talent and develop succession planning for leadership roles.
• Oversee area operations and financial results, including budgeting and P&L.
• Drive safety, store condition management, and compliance with procedures.
• Direct Leads and Team Leaders and allocate daily tasks.
