Job summary

Meijer is seeking an Area Leader to drive team engagement and store performance across a span of care. You will coach Leaders, manage budgets, and implement process improvements to maximize sales and productivity while upholding Meijer’s culture.

The role emphasizes onboarding, talent development, and succession planning with accountability for financial results and customer satisfaction in a multi-store context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information to inform decisions.

Responsibilities

• Onboard, train, develop, and coach team members to enable success.
• Identify talent and conduct career discussions to support staffing and leadership pipelines.
• Oversee area operations and financial results, including budgeting and P&L oversight.
• Drive safety, compliance, and store condition; ensure adherence to procedures.
• Lead and direct Leads and Team Leaders; assign daily tasks and training as needed.
