Job summary

Meijer in Michigan is seeking an Area Leader to drive team engagement, coaching, performance management and succession planning across a span of care. You will direct Leads and Team Leaders, own budget line items in the P&L, and implement process improvements while upholding Meijer's culture.

This role focuses on staffing, safety, scheduling and ensuring high service standards. You will identify talent, develop career paths, and collaborate with store leadership to maximize sales, productivity

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with team members to provide clear direction.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information to inform decisions.
• Commitment to safety and working safely at all times.
• Innovative mindset to help Meijer set the industry standard.

Responsibilities

• Engage with team members to ensure onboarding, training and development for success.
• Identify talent and discuss career progression to support staffing and leadership pipelines.
• Conduct candid discussions to uphold Meijer standards and growth opportunities.
• Oversee area operations and financial results, delivering on corporate plans and budgets.
• Drive safety/compliance and manage store condition and procedures.
• Lead and guide Team Leaders and Leads in daily work and training needs.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
