Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a proactive Area Leader to drive team engagement and operational excellence across the span of care.

You will lead Leads and Team Leaders, coach performance, manage onboarding, training, and development, and influence staffing decisions while safeguarding safety, scheduling, and budget execution. You will identify talent, engage in career discussions, and implement process improvements to uphold Meijer standards and culture, aiming for strong store performance and customer

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• A passion to provide industry leading service.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with team members to provide clear and precise direction.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions.

Responsibilities

• Engages with team members to ensure onboarding, training and coaching for success.
• Identifies talent and supports staffing and leadership pipelines.
• Conducts candid discussions to uphold Meijer standards and growth.
• Oversees area operations and financial results, including budget and forecasting.
• Drives safety, store condition, and compliance across the area.
• Collaborates with Leads to delegate daily work and training needs.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
