Job summary

Meijer is seeking an Area Leader to drive team engagement, coaching, and performance across a span of care. You will lead Leads and Team Leaders, supervise budgeted areas, and push for process improvements while upholding the Meijer culture.

The role emphasizes safety, scheduling, and continuous development in a multi-state retail environment. You will build a diversified talent pipeline, ensure onboarding and training, and collaborate with leadership to maximize sales and productivity while

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with team members to provide clear direction.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information to make informed decisions.
• Demonstrates proactive/creative thinking to help Meijer set the industry standard.
• Understanding of seasonal and diverse merchandising to meet customer needs and market share.
• Strong business acumen with a commitment to an inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

• Engages with team members to ensure onboarding, training, development, coaching, and feedback.
• Identifies talent and supports staffing strategy for diversified leadership pipelines.
• Conducts candid discussions to uphold Meijer standards and growth opportunities.
• Oversees area operations and financial results, including budgeting, scheduling, and forecasting.
• Drives safety, compliance, and effective store condition management.
• Directs Leads and Team Leaders in daily assignments and training needs.
