Job summary

Meijer is seeking an Area Leader to oversee a span of care, drive engagement, coaching, and succession planning. This role directs Leads and Team Leaders and is accountable for area operations and P&L, driving performance and growth.

You will ensure onboarding, training, and development, identify talent, and maintain Meijer standards across the area while seeking process improvements and maintaining safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• A passion to provide industry leading service.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with team members for clear direction.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial information and use it to make decisions.
• Demonstrates commitment to safety and working conditions.
• Creative thinking and proactive approach to business.

Responsibilities

• Engage with team members to ensure onboarding, training and development, and coaching for success.
• Identify talent and discuss career paths to support staffing and leadership pipelines.
• Discuss performance to uphold Meijer standards and pathways for growth.
• Oversee area operations and financial results, aligning with corporate plans to maximize sales and productivity; manage P&L budget items.
• Drive safety and compliance across the store and maintain overall condition, following procedures.
• Ensure Leads/Team Leaders assign daily work and training needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.
