Job summary

Meijer is seeking an Area Leader to drive engagement and performance across a span of care. You will lead Leads and Team Leaders, ensure onboarding and development, and own accountability for area operations and financial results.

This role emphasizes safety, process improvements, and sustaining Meijer culture. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 4+ years in retail or customer service with progressive leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• A passion to provide industry leading service.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with team members to provide clear direction.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions.

Responsibilities

• Engages with team members to ensure onboarding, training and development, and coaching for success.
• Identifies talent and engages in career discussions to support staffing and leadership pipelines.
• Conducts candid discussions to ensure Meijer standards are upheld and growth opportunities.
• Oversees area operations and financial results by implementing corporate plans to maximize sales and productivity and manages budget line items in the P&L.
• Drives safety and compliance and ensures proper condition management and adherence to procedures.
• Guides Team Leaders and Leads in daily tasks and training needs and supports overall team performance.
