Job summary

Meijer is seeking an Area Leader to drive engagement, development and operational excellence across a span of care. You will lead Leads and Team Leaders, coach for performance, and ensure safe, compliant store operations while managing budgets and productivity.

Ideal candidates bring 4+ years in retail or customer service with progressive leadership, strong communication, and a data-driven approach to improve sales and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with team members to provide clear direction.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use it to drive decisions.
• Experience leading an organization that emphasizes safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Engage with team members to ensure onboarding, training and development.
• Identify talent and support staffing and leadership pipelines.
• Conduct candid discussions to uphold Meijer standards and growth opportunities.
• Oversee area operations and financial results, including P&L responsibility.
• Drive safety, compliance, and store condition management.
• Guide Leads and Team Leaders and allocate daily work and training needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
