Job summary

Meijer is seeking an Area Leader responsible for overall team member engagement within the span of care. You will drive recognition, feedback and coaching, performance management, training and development, and succession planning, directing Leads and Team Leaders while being accountable for area operations and P&L results.

This role emphasizes process improvements, safety and compliance, staffing planning, and maintaining Meijer’s culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years in retail/grocery or customer service.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• Excellent communication with teams.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical data.

Responsibilities

• Engage with team members to onboard, train, and develop for success.
• Identify and cultivate diverse talent pipelines for staffing.
• Conduct candid discussions to uphold Meijer standards and growth.
• Oversee area operations and financial results, manage budget in P&L.
• Drive safety, ensure compliance, and maintain store conditions.
• Lead Team Leaders and assign daily work and training needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
