Job summary

Meijer is seeking an Area Leader to drive team engagement and development across a span of care. The role focuses on coaching, performance management, and succession planning while aligning with corporate plans to optimize sales and productivity.

You will lead leads and team leaders, oversee area operations, and manage budgets, safety compliance, and staffing forecasts. As a steward of Meijer culture, you will implement process improvements and nurture an inclusive work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with team members and drive performance.

Responsibilities

• Engages with team members to ensure onboarding, training and development, and coaching.
• Identifies talent and engages in career discussions to support staffing and leadership pipelines.
• Hold team members to Meijer standards and facilitate growth within the organization.
• Oversee area operations and financial results, including budget management and forecasting staffing needs.
• Drive safety and compliance, and ensure shop floor condition and policy adherence.
• Guide Team Leaders and Leads in daily tasks, training, and assignments.
