Job summary

Meijer is seeking an Area Leader to drive engagement, coaching and development across team members in the span of care. You will lead Leaders and oversee area operations, forecasting staffing needs, and managing budgeted financials, while upholding Meijer's culture of inclusivity and excellence.

The role emphasizes identifying talent, career discussions, and ensuring top-tier customer service, safety, and store standards within a multi-state retailer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with team members to provide clear direction.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information for informed decisions.
• Commitment to safety and working practices.

Responsibilities

• Engages with team members to ensure onboarding, training and coaching.
• Identifies talent and supports staffing and leadership development.
• Oversight of area operations and financial results, managing budget line items in the P&L.
• Drive safety, compliance and store condition management.
• Directs Team Leaders and Leads in daily work assignments and training needs.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
