Job summary

Meijer is seeking an Area Leader to drive engagement and performance across the span of care. You will lead Leads and Team Leaders, manage onboarding, training, and coaching, and own area operations and budgeting to maximize sales and productivity.

We value teamwork, inclusive leadership, and a strong focus on safety and compliance. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent plus 4+ years in retail or customer service is required to advance in our multi-state organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions.
• A commitment to fostering an inclusive environment where all team members and vendors feel valued and supported.

Responsibilities

• Engages with team members to ensure onboarding, training and development, and coaching.
• Identifies talent and supports staffing and leadership pipelines.
• Facilitates candid discussions to uphold Meijer standards and growth opportunities.
• Oversees area operations and financial results, managing budget line items in the P&L.
• Drives safety, compliance and store condition management while following procedures.
• Guides Team Leaders and Leads in daily work assignments and training needs.
