Job summary

Meijer is seeking an Area Leader to drive engagement, development and performance across a span of care. You will lead Leads and Team Leaders and own area operations and budget planning within the P&L, while promoting safety and strong customer service.

You will identify talent, coach teams, and ensure onboarding and ongoing training. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required, along with 4+ years in retail or customer service and progressive leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with team members with clear direction.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and operating standards.
• Understanding of seasonal and diverse merchandising to meet customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Engage with team members to ensure onboarding, training and development.
• Identify talent and support staffing and leadership pipelines.
• Hold candid discussions to uphold Meijer standards and growth.
• Oversee area operations and financial results, manage budget lines in P&L.
• Drive safety, compliance and store condition management.
• Guide Leads and Team Leaders with daily work and training needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
