Job summary

Meijer is seeking an Area Leader in Michigan to lead a span of care, drive engagement, and coach Leaders and team members toward outstanding service and performance. The role directs area operations with accountability for budget, safety, and store productivity, while shaping talent pipelines and organizational culture.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, 4+ years in retail or customer service, and demonstrated leadership and financial analysis capabilities to sustain growth

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• A passion to provide industry leading service.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with team members to provide clear direction.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information for informed decisions.
• Demonstrates ability to lead an organization that emphasizes safety.

Responsibilities

• Engages with team members to ensure onboarding, training and development, and coaching.
• Identifies talent and supports staffing and leadership pipeline strategy.
• Delivers candid discussions to uphold Meijer standards and growth opportunities.
• Oversees area operations and financial results by executing corporate plans to maximize sales and productivity.
• Drives safety and compliance and manages store conditions and procedures.
• Ensures Leads and Team Leaders assign daily work and address training needs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
