Job summary

HMSHost is seeking a Manager I to support branch management in executing QSR or similar restaurant operations. This role ensures the restaurant is clean, prepared for business, staffed, and run to high standards, using established policies to guide decisions.

The Manager I typically reports to the GM or Director of Operations, and works a varied, rotating schedule on site at multiple operating days. Previous supervisory experience in F&B is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years food and beverage, cash handling, and customer service experience.
• Minimum 6 months supervisory or lead experience in a restaurant or production kitchen.
• Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with customers.

Responsibilities

• Completes opening, daily and closing procedures/checklists in accordance with company policies/procedures.
• Assists the AGM/GM in managing by supervising day-to-day activities of associates within a defined individual or group of restaurants or points-of-sale.
• Participates in the interview process, provides input in hiring, recommends termination, advancement, promotion or any other status change to the GM for associates within the unit.
• Assigns work tasks and activities, prepares schedules, and ensures that all shifts are covered.
• Ensures all associates take mandated rest breaks and meal periods.
• Ensures display areas are clean, stocked, and visually appealing.
• Operates cash register and handles transactions per policies; maintains cash security.
• Monitors wellness and safety procedures and reports concerns to the GM.
• Follows Health and Safety activities per the Manager’s Guide to Associate Health and Safety.
• Places orders for units, receives goods, and processes invoices.
• Keeps contact information for associates up to date.
• Works varied shifts including opening, busy parts, and closing to monitor activities.
