Potbelly Sandwich Works is seeking a leader to manage shifts and mentor Associates in a fast-paced restaurant setting. You will coach, interview, schedule, and uphold cash controls while fostering a positive shop culture.

The role emphasizes labor management, safety compliance, and strong guest service. Illinois applicants must become food safety certified within 30 days of employment; a flexible, hands-on leader is essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of management experience in restaurant or retail preferred.
• Must pass and obtain Food Safety Certification; IL employees must certify within 30 days.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to write effective schedules and maintain labor goals.
• Ability to stand/walk 8-9 hours and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Train, coach and develop Potbelly Associates and Shift Leaders.
• Effectively interview and recommend hires for Associates and Leaders.
• Maintain a Good Vibes culture and support retention.
• Effectively schedule Associates, Trainers and Shift Leaders.
• Update communication board with critical shop information.
• Attend meetings and ensure security procedures are followed.
• Ensure back-of-house standards and daily cash handling procedures.
• Drive local promotions to maximize sales and recruitment efforts.
