Job summary

IHOP is seeking a General Manager to direct the operation of an assigned unit, focusing on guest service, staff development, and achievement of financial and marketing targets. The role requires implementing training programs, maintaining SOP adherence, and ensuring food safety and equipment readiness.

Responsibilities include recruiting and coaching staff, handling customer complaints, and maintaining strong engagement with guests and team members.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2–4 years related experience and/or training.
• Ability to communicate in English, read safety rules, and write routine reports.
• Driver's License required for company business.
• Certification through IHOP training courses.

Responsibilities

• Direct the operation of an assigned IHOP unit according to SOPs and operating plan.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with IHOP employees and guests.
• Implement the Craft Training program for all restaurant hourly employees.
• Execute annual financial, local marketing, guest service, and HR objectives.
• Manage guest relations and address complaints professionally and timely.
• Recruit, train, and retain staff; oversee performance appraisals and merit increases.
• Ensure food safety, proper inventory levels, and adherence to SOPs.
• Oversee equipment, premises, sanitation, and safety programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
