Job summary

Black Bear Diner Assistant Manager is the right-hand to the General Manager, coordinating planning, organizing, training and leadership to hit sales, cost and profitability targets. This role may lead shifts solo and ensures fast, friendly guest service with high quality food delivered timely and accurately.

Responsibilities include staffing, interviewing and training, maintaining front and back of house operations, coaching team members, and ensuring opening/closing duties are completed to

Qualifications

• Ability to demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of P&L analysis, cash controls, labor analysis, yields and costs.

Responsibilities

• Ensure guest service complies with Black Bear Diner standards.
• Ensure food is prepped, cooked and plated according to company standards.
• Purchase food from authorized sources using company procedures.
• Monitor supplies, costs and inventory to minimize waste and loss.
• Analyze profits and loss statements and take corrective actions.
• Lead labor scheduling and staffing in advance of the work week; adjust for volume.
• Interviews and hires team members; process payroll; maintain applicant tracking.
• Develop staff through coaching and feedback; monitor performance and provide guidance.
• Maintain sanitation, safety and regulatory compliance across front and back of house.
